James    Keyboards & vocals

How long have you been playing?

I started playing a small single layered keyboard when I was 7 years old. I then progressed onto a dual layered organ soon after completing practical and theory exams with the London College of Music until I was about 14 years old. I then stopped playing totally for about 12 years but then had the oppurtunity to join a band for the first time and jumped at the chance. It gave me a chance to learn the piano side of playing which I probably enjoy more so at the moment. :). I have also been a DJ since the late 90’s which has been another great passion of mine.

Have you been in any other bands?

I have only been in one band the original Nun the weiser with Scott & Judi. We had a lot of ups and downs in that band but also had a lot of fun learning the good and bad points of gigging!

Who are your influences?

I’d say my biggest influence has to be my dad. He is into his music just as much as me and also played the piano at a young age. My playing style has probably been influenced by the legendary Rick Wakeman and I am mesmorised every time I see him play. Other big influences are Jordan Rudess from Dream Theater and Lawerence Gowan from Styx (One of my Favourite bands).

If you were stranded on an island what music would you take with you?

Tough one as I like such a wide variety of music. I’d have to say anything by Styx or Floyd.
